O CACMB - Centro de Arqueologia Caetano de Mello Beirão, tem como objetivo a inventariação, o estudo, a conservação e a divulgação do património cultural, designadamente, o vasto património arqueológico da região. O seu primeiro programa de atividade visava o extenso conjunto de materiais recolhidos no Depósito Votivo da II Idade do Ferro em Garvão.
No momento da criação do CACMB, em setembro de 2009, foram estabelecidas as suas linhas programáticas gerais, posteriormente confirmadas no protocolo assinado pelo Município de Ourique, a Direção Regional de Cultura do Alentejo e a Universidade de Évora/Centro Hercules. São elas: - a salvaguarda e a valorização dos acervos arqueológicos ou outros depositados nas suas reservas, nomeadamente, através do respetivo estudo, inventariação e conservação; - a divulgação do património cultural junto dos diversos públicos, quer através de eventos e apresentações de caráter mais lúdico, quer sob a forma de atividades de formação em áreas específicas relacionadas com o tema; - promoção de relações de cooperação e intercâmbio com outras entidades públicas ou privadas igualmente empenhadas na salvaguarda e valorização do património cultural. A criação do CACMB - Centro de Arqueologia Caetano de Mello Beirão e o regresso do espólio do Depósito Votivo corresponderam ao culminar de um longo processo de reivindicação por parte dos ouriquenses que, conscientes do carácter excecional desse conjunto sublinhado pelos especialistas, sempre esperaram que ele regressasse ao seu local de origem e aqui constituísse um motivo de interesse para visitantes e de desenvolvimento para o concelho. |
CACMB, the Caetano de Mello Beirão Archeological Center, aims the inventory, the study, the conservation and the disclosing of the cultural heritage, namely the region’s vast archeological heritage. Its first program of activities looked for the study of the extent collection of materials found in the Votive Deposit of the II Iron Age, in Garvão.
On the moment of its foundation, on september 2009, there were established its programmatic guide lines, confirmed afterwards through the protocol subscribed by the Municipality of Ourique, the Alentejo Regional Direction of Culture and the University of Évora/Hercules Center. Those guide lines are as follows: - the safeguard of the archeological finds or other collections stored in its reserves, namely through its study, inventory and conservation; - the disclosing of the cultural heritage for several audiences, whether through presentations or events with a character of entertainment, or within a frame of training in specific areas related with that subject; -the promotion of co-operative relationships and interchange with other public or private entities, equally committed in the safeguard and valorization of the cultural heritage; The foundation of CACMB - Caetano de Mello Beirão Archeological Center and the return of the Votive Deposit collection, meant the closing of a long claiming process from the people of Ourique, which, well aware of the exceptional value of that set, underlined by the experts, always hoped it would return to its origin place and constituted here a leitmotiv for visitors and for the development of the municipality. |
